Thanksgiving is a holiday that many people celebrate in November. It is a time to eat good food and be thankful for what we have. Thanksgiving is about families getting together and eating turkey, cranberries, and pumpkin pie. But Thanksgiving has a long history.
Many people think that Thanksgiving started with the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag tribe. The Pilgrims were people who came to America from England to start a new life. They were helped by the Wampanoag tribe, who taught them how to grow food and survive in the new land. The Pilgrims and the Wampanoag tribe had a big feast together to celebrate the harvest. This feast is often called the first Thanksgiving.
But Thanksgiving is more than just a feast. It is also a time to remember the Native Americans who lived in America before the Pilgrims arrived. For many Native Americans, Thanksgiving is a day of mourning because it reminds them of the bad things that happened to their people after the Pilgrims came. The Pilgrims took land from the Native Americans and made life very hard for them. Thanksgiving is a complex holiday with a long and complicated history.
